OIL AND ENERGY

Oil and energy. Explore what moves prices.

Understand Brent, WTI, natural gas and the forces shaping energy markets before exploring them on MT5.

01 / OIL AND ENERGY

Energy prices connect the global economy.

Oil and natural gas are important inputs to transport, manufacturing and heating. Their prices respond to production, inventories, global demand and disruptions.

Brent and WTI are widely followed crude-oil benchmarks; natural gas has its own storage, weather and regional factors. Tradable products may also have special contract or rollover conditions.

03 / READING THE PRICE

How are crude-oil prices quoted?

Crude benchmarks are commonly expressed in US dollars per barrel. That reference price is not automatically the value of a one-lot trading position.

Contract sizes, permitted sessions and potential expiry or rollover rules depend on the actual instrument offered by a platform.
